Grigor Dimitrov continues to make some significant changes to his coaching team.
Dimitrov suffered a serious injury at Wimbledon last year, tearing his pectoral muscle after being two sets to love up against eventual champion Jannik Sinner.
This injury meant that the Bulgarian spent four months on the sidelines, with Dimitrov splitting from coach Jamie Delgado before returning at the Paris Masters.
Delgado is not the only coach whom he has parted ways from, with Dimitrov also ending his long-term collaboration with Daniel Vallverdu.
After this, Dimitrov brought in Xavier Malisse, but less than two months later he has made another addition in former Grand Slam finalist David Nalbandian.

Grigor Dimitrov set to work with David Nalbandian at his next tournament
Dimitrov has struggled to find form so far in 2026, winning just one of his four matches so far this year.
Following his latest tournament at the Dallas Open, where Dimitrov was beaten in the first round by Alex Michelsen, he now appears to have made another big coaching change.
As reported by Bulgarian news outlet TennisKafe, Dimitrov is now set to start working with Nalbandian, which they have reported has been confirmed by his agent Georgi Stoimenov.
Nalbandian reached the Wimbledon final in 2002, and once beat Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the same tournament.
Since retiring from tennis in 2013, Nalbandian has only had one significant coaching experience when working with Serbian ATP player Miomir Kecmanovic, with their collaboration lasting around a year.
While Nalbandian is now set to join Dimitrov’s team for his next tournament at the Mexican Open, Malisse will still remain as the main coach.

Is it Alexander Zverev, Marcelo Rios, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer or maybe even someone else?
Brad Gilbert gives his verdict on Grigor Dimitrov’s coaching addition
Dimitrov has not commented on this new coaching appointment yet, but someone who has is Brad Gilbert.
Gilbert has previously coached Coco Gauff, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick and Kei Nishikori to name a few, so knows what it takes to work with the very best.

When informed of this new coaching appointment for Dimitrov, Gilbert appeared to think it was a positive decision to add Nalbandian to his team.
Gilbert wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Interesting hire as coach,” before being asked if he thought it was a good fit.
He responded, “Results usually dictate if it’s a good fit, sounds like a good fit.”
Dimitrov will be able to show if this has been a good hire from him at his next tournament in Acapulco, which begins on February 23.
