Novak Djokovic’s Wimbledon run came to an end in the semifinals when faced with defending champion Jannik Sinner.
Six months after beating him at the Australian Open, Djokovic fell to Sinner in straight sets at the All England Club, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
The Italian dominated the match with a world-class serving display to book his place in a second consecutive Wimbledon final.

If not, what is?
Djokovic will now have to wait until the US Open later this summer to continue his quest for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title.
After the Serb’s defeat to the world number one, tennis legend Boris Becker took to social media to send him a message.

Boris Becker’s message to Novak Djokovic on social media
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Becker said: “Well done, Schatzi!
“A 39-year-old making the semis of Wimbledon is not too bad after all… Upwards & Onwards.”
Djokovic reached the semifinals at Wimbledon for the 15th time in his career, and at 39, became the oldest to make the final four of the tournament since Ken Rosewall in 1974.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion put together a remarkable run in SW19, beating the likes of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Arthur Rinderknech and Felix Auger-Aliassime.
His clash with Auger-Aliassime in the last eight was the longest quarterfinal in Wimbledon history, lasting five hours and 15 minutes.
Where does that match rank among the best of Novak Djokovic’s career?
It was the longest Wimbledon quarterfinal in history…
With his victory over the Canadian, Djokovic extended his record for the most match wins in men’s singles at Wimbledon to 107.
He also extended his record for the most Grand Slam semifinals reached in history, with 55.

Jimmy Connors says people need to stop telling Novak Djokovic to retire
Djokovic is in the twilight of his career, but still continues to be competitive at the biggest tournaments in tennis.
Despite his longevity, some fans have called for the 24-time major champion to retire, which the all-time leader in ATP titles, Jimmy Connors (109), completely disagrees with.
Connors said: “People need to stop telling Novak he should retire. He’s the only one who can make that decision.
“Nobody should try to take away from him something that he loves. He also doesn’t need to please any of us who are just spectators.
“If he steps on the court and he feels that he has done everything he needs to in this sport, yet he still wants to continue playing, we can’t ask for anything more than that.”
Djokovic is the oldest player inside the ATP top 100, followed by Adrian Mannarino and Marin Cilic, who are both 37.
