Boris Becker has continued to keep tabs on the tennis world, this time focusing on a record-breaking compatriot.
Becker loved seeing Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz at the Shanghai Masters final, with the duo having taken in the match between Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
The Italian emerged victorious against the Serbian, denying him a record-extending fifth Shanghai Masters title and indeed a 100th tour-level title.
But the unforgiving ATP Tour schedule has quickly moved on to the Almaty Open, with the ATP 250 event taking place in Kazakhstan this week.
And 17-year-old Justin Engel has already stolen the headlines, with the German winning his opening match at the competition.

Boris Becker sends ATP record-breaker Justin Engel message
Engel is the first player born in 2007 or after to record an ATP win, having defeated Coleman Wong 7-5, 6-4.
The victory caught the attention of his compatriot Becker, who wrote on X: “Congratulations Justin! Keep it up…”
Teenage star Justin Engel in great company at the Almaty Open
Becker does, of course, know all about clinching such records, having become the youngest-ever winner of Wimbledon in 1985 aged 17.
Engel’s success also means he has become the youngest player to win a tour-level match since a 16-year-old Carlos Alcaraz won in Rio de Janeiro.
The teenager has now been rewarded for his efforts with a hugely exciting round of 16 tie with Francisco Cerundolo.

Almaty Open fourth seed Cerundolo, a three-time ATP Tour winner and recent Laver Cup player, received a bye in the round of 32.
German wildcard Engel is certainly in great company in Kazakhstan, with 2024 Laver Cup stars Frances Tiafoe and Alejandro Tabilo also taking part.
