Arthur Fils appears to be back to his very best a month after coming back from injury.

Fils returned in early February after being sidelined since July with a stress fracture in his back, which he sustained at Roland Garros.

The Frenchman has since appeared at five ATP Tour-level tournaments, including the Qatar Open, where he made the final.

He reached the quarterfinals at the Indian Wells Open and is now through to the fourth round of the Miami Open after handing Stefanos Tsitsipas the heaviest loss of his career.

After seeing Fils‘ latest result, tennis legend Boris Becker took to social media to give high praise to the 21-year-old.

Boris Becker reacts to Arthur Fils’ dominant win at the Miami Open

Fils defeated Tsitsipas 6-0, 6-1, wrapping the match up in just 55 minutes to advance to the round of 16, where he will take on Valentin Vacherot.

Only David Goffin and Alex de Minaur have conceded fewer games in a match against a former ATP Masters 1000 champion.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Becker reacted to the clash, stating: “Arthur is on Fire! When healthy, top 10 quality!”

So far in his career, Fils has reached a career-high ranking of 14th in the world, which he achieved after making the quarterfinals of the Monte-Carlo Masters last year.

He is currently ranked 31st in the world and will need to advance past the quarterfinals of the Miami Open to gain points.

Arthur Fils’ lopsided record against Stefanos Tsitsipas

Fils’ match against Tsitsipas at the Miami Open was the fifth in their rivalry, and the latter is still yet to get off the mark in the head-to-head.

The two first met in Antwerp during the 2023 season, where Fils defeated Tsitsipas in straight sets having won two tiebreaks.

He beat him once more in Basel during 2024 and advanced past the Greek via a walkover at the Barcelona Open last year.

Prior to the Miami bout, their most recent meeting was at the 2025 Italian Open, where Tsitsipas took his first ever set off Fils, but still lost the match.

Fils wasted no time triumphing in Miami, and improved his lead in the head-to-head to 5-0.
