Andy Murray rolled back the years last night as he beat Matteo Berrettini at the Miami Open. Next up he faces his nemesis from the Australian Open, Tomas-Martin Etcheverry.
Afterwards, Murray wrote something cheeky on a camera and Boris Becker reacted on X using just two words. The three-time Grand Slam winner won 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 against the Italian and he looked very relaxed.
Murray produced some fine tennis to beat Berrettini to reach the last 64 of the tournament. His opponent was battling some sickness but still, the Great Britain star remained professional.

Well, Murray was back to his usual self it seemed last night. Despite a bad knee and a metal hip, the two-time Wimbledon winner was in good form against a typically tough opponent.
After the match, a picture on X showed that Murray signed the camera with the words: “There’s life in the old dog yet”, to which Becker replied with, ‘Classic Andy.”
Laura Robson came in for some flak from Murray after the game. She wondered why he did the sarcastic laughter during his time on the court and the male star felt like he couldn’t win.
Life left in Murray yet and confidence should now be high
Murray would dearly love to set the record straight when he meets Etcheverry tomorrow. He was blown away at the Australian Open but he’s playing better tennis now.
Beating Berrettini should give Murray a lot of confidence and clearly, Becker noticed a player that was enjoying himself out on the court once again.
With the career of Murray close to ending, it looks as though the player is just trying to enjoy the final months of an illustrious playing career.
A happy Murray is a dangerous one and it will be interesting to see if he can pull off another shock against Etcheverry when they meet.
