Boris Becker shared his thoughts on the Laver Cup after Team Europe defeated Team World.
The seventh edition of the event was held in Berlin, Germany and the six-time Grand Slam winner was invited to catch the action in person.
Becker witnessed Europe come from behind to seal a 13-11 win and win the Laver Cup for the fifth time.
This marked the last time that Bjorn Borg would captain Team Europe and that John McEnroe would lead Team World.

Boris Becker was seen watching the Laver Cup action in Germany’s Uber Arena alongside the event’s co-founder and three-time winner Roger Federer.
Becker beamed with pride after watching his compatriot Alexander Zverev come from a set down to defeat Frances Tiafoe to keep Team Europe’s hopes alive of winning the title for the first time since 2021.
The team jumped for joy when Carlos Alcaraz defeated Taylor Fritz to win the title, as the vast majority of the crowd cheered their success.
During a conversation with Tennis Channel DE via Tennis.com, Becker reacted to what he saw at the 2024 Laver Cup and explained the importance of having team events in tennis.
“I’m a big fan of team competitions, I liked playing in the Davis Cup. I’ve always watched the Laver Cup, this is my first time here in person,” Becker said.
“First of all, it is extremely important for Germany as a tennis location to have the Laver Cup in Berlin. It is equally important that we have the best German tennis player, Sascha Zverev, in our ranks here.
“We are currently experiencing a tennis boom internationally and in Germany, too, many people are watching more tennis than before. So it’s important to have tournaments like the Laver Cup, where the best in the world play.”

As he mentioned during his interview with Tennis Channel DE Becker expressed how much he enjoyed playing in Davis Cup events.
He won the title twice with Germany and also won the Olympic gold medal alongside Michael Stich at the 1992 Games in Barcelona.
Becker was asked to name three players he would select in his Davis Cup team, and he chose the world’s top three players.
“Three is not enough,” he said. “But I would choose the three best: in this case, that would be Alcaraz, Sinner and Zverev. Two of them are in Berlin.”
