Ben Shelton is pleased with the improvements he continues to make to his game.
2024 marks the American’s second full season on tour, and he is already ranked inside the world’s top 15.
The 21-year-old also has a Grand Slam semi-final to his name and possesses one of the biggest and most dangerous serves in the game.
But Shelton is pleased with how he continues to enhance his all-around game and he is aiming for a strong North American summer hard court swing.
What did Ben Shelton say he is getting better at?
Ben Shelton is one of the most exciting players on the ATP Tour and his serve and following forehand shot is one of the most lethal combinations in the game.
One of the two-time ATP title winner’s biggest goals was to work on his consistency to achieve more success.
This is something Shelton thinks he is doing well as he defeated Alexander Bublik to win his opening match at the Canadian Open.
“I think the consistency in my tennis is improving every week. I’m feeling more and more comfortable,” he said post-match.
“I’m starting to feel more comfortable on the court against guys that I’ve had a lot of trouble with before. I think that my game is evolving every day.
“Surely not the player that I want to be in the future, but I think I’m moving the right way with a lot of things and finding identity on court.”

Can Ben Shelton win his first Masters 1000 title in Canada?
Shelton defeated doubles partner Bublik for the first time in his career by recording a 7-6(4), 6-2 win in Montreal.
He cleaned up some early forehand errors to win the first set tiebreak before coasting to his 27th victory of the season.
Up next Shelton will face Australia’s Alexei Popyrin, who defeated Czech star Tomas Machac 6-3, 6-4 to advance.
