Since 2021 Dustin Brown has chosen to play doubles tournaments only and now the end is nigh for his tennis career.
The 39-year-old looks set to retire from tennis after the Metz Open which is currently taking place in France this week.
Brown is teaming up with American player Evan King and they face home favourites Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Albano Olivetti in the last 16.
Alongside Argentine player Sebastian Baez, Brown reached the last 16 at Wimbledon this year, before losing to number-one seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
At the French Open, Brown teamed up with Frances Tiafoe but that partnership didn’t last long with the pair losing in the first round.

Dustin Brown set to retire from professional tennis
Like any professional sportsperson, Brown will still hold some happy memories from his career – even if the success stories have been few and far between.
Brown never reached the second week of a major as a single player with a third round at Wimbledon the furthest he progressed in a Grand Slam draw.
Despite that, Brown has made a good career out of playing tennis and has amassed £2.5 million in prize money during his career.
The player always gave everything out on the court and he can at least look back on one extremely impressive record against one of the all-time greats…
Dustin Brown record against Rafael Nadal
Nothing can ever take this away from Brown and it will be something for him to tell the grandkids in years to come.
Brown is one of only two players to remain undefeated against Rafael Nadal after playing him more than once on the tour.
He is 2-0 against the Spaniard with Brown joining Alex Corretja as the only two players to share that particular feat.
The most famous win of Brown’s entire career came against Nadal at Wimbledon in 2015 when he sent him crashing out in the second round.
He won in four sets on that occasion with the other victory coming a year earlier in the Wimbledon warm-up event in Halle.
