Aryna Sabalenka is already back on the practice court less than two weeks after winning the US Open.

The 26-year-old outlasted Jessica Pegula 7-5, 7-5 in the championship match to silence the New York crowd who were rooting for the American.

Sabalenka became the first Belarusian to win the US Open singles title in history and just the fifth woman to capture both hard court majors in the same season after defending the Australian Open title in January.

She is now on a mission to finish the year by becoming the World number one once again and win the WTA Finals for the first time.

Aryna Sabalenka means business as she provides fans with an important tennis update

Sabalenka was overjoyed after she finally lifted the US Open title after several near misses in her career.

She dropped just one set on the way to the championship and defended the Australian Open title in January without dropping a set.

This World number two now has three Grand Slam titles to her name and she will be determined to add to her haul in 2025.

But after ending the Grand Slam season with a victory, she is not resting on her laurels and told fans she is already back in training.

She took to social media platform X on Monday and wrote: “Forgot to tell you all! I’m back practicing a long time ago lol,” she chuckled.

Where is Aryna Sabalenka going to play next?

The Asian swing has now begun and Sabalenka is set to return to action at the Wuhan Open which commences on October 7.

This season marks the first time that the tournament will be held since 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic and the WTA Tour’s subsequent boycott of China.

Sabalenka is the last player to win the event after she captured the title in 2018 and 2019 after beating Anett Kontaveit and Alison Riske respectively.

Sabalenka will enter the tournament as the favourite, but she will face stiff competition from World number one Iga Swiatek, who is set to compete in the tournament for the first time.

The rest of the top 10 are all set to compete, as are the likes of Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova and Olympic silver medalist Donna Vekic.
