Aryna Sabalenka has won her fourth Grand Slam title after defending her US Open crown.

Sabalenka avenged recent major final losses to beat Amanda Anisimova and win the US Open for a second consecutive year.

Despite beating the American, Sabalenka made a big prediction for Anisimova, who has lost back-to-back Grand Slam finals.

Sabalenka was able to play her best tennis in the big moments, and she has now reacted to her victory on social media.

Although Sabalenka has been world number one since October last year, she has not lifted a major title since then.

The Belarusian has been in Grand Slam finals since then, with Sabalenka losing to Coco Gauff at Roland Garros, and Madison Keys at the Australian Open.

However, it was third time lucky for Sabalenka against an American in a Grand Slam final this year, something she seemingly alluded to in her Instagram post.

In a video posing with the US Open title on Arthur Ashe Stadium, Sabalenka simply wrote, “It’s good to be back.”

Aryna Sabalenka improves her chances of ending the year as world number one

Coming into the US Open this year, it appeared that Sabalenka’s world number one ranking was under some pressure with both Iga Swiatek and Gauff chasing her down.

Swiatek had been predicted to overtake Sabalenka as the world number one by the end of the year, but that is looking less likely now.

After winning the US Open, Sabalenka now leads Swiatek and Gauff by 3,292 and 3,351 points, respectively.

While Sabalenka has many more ranking points to defend than Swiatek before the end of the year, she is still on track to end the year as world number one.

In the race to the WTA Finals, which tracks ranking points earned in 2025, Sabalenka still leads Swiatek by 2,077 points with just a few months left of the season remaining.
