Aryna Sabalenka suggests the area of the game she is better at than Jessica Pegula.
The Belarusian may have just one title to her name so far this season, but she has been the WTA Tour’s most consistent player in 2025.
She will have another chance to lift the trophy when the World number one contests the Miami Open final, which is her fourth final of the campaign.
Sabalenka will face America’s Jessica Pegula, in what will be a rematch of the 2024 US Open final.

What does Aryna Sabalenka think she does better than Miami Open final opponent Jessica Pegula?
Aryna Sabalenka has looked very strong throughout her run to the Miami Open final.
She has yet to drop a set and Sabalenka dispatched Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-finals, despite the Italian hitting 19 winners and just nine unforced errors.
Following that match, Sabalenka spoke to the press about facing Pegula in Saturday’s final, and mentioned the area of the game where she thinks she could be slightly better than her next opponent.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to talk like that, that I do something better than her. I don’t know – she is a great player,” Sabalenka said.
“If we think about serve or ground strokes or even volleys, everyone can play great shots. I think it is all about the mental part of the game.
“Maybe mentally some moments I am a bit tougher than her. But also you can’t say I am tougher than her, that’s it. You have to bring that toughness every time.”

Aryna Sabalenka preparing for third final against Jessica Pegula
Sabalenka is preparing to face Pegula for the ninth time.
They have not played one another since the 2024 US Open final, which Sabalenka claimed 7-5, 7-5.
This victory came shortly after Sabalenka defeated Pegula in the Cincinnati Masters final 6-3, 7-5.
Sabalenka has won six of her eight matches against the American, but this has the making of another close battle, and she is relishing the challenge.
“We have had a lot of tough matches against each other,” Sabalenka said of Pegula. “It’s always great battles. Cincinnati was a great level from me probably but maybe not really from her
“And then finals [US Open] was a crazy match again, she fought really hard in that second set and it was a tough match. It’s always great battles and I’m always excited to face her.”
