Aryna Sabalenka has given her reaction to Naomi Osaka’s eye-catching outfit for the Australian Open this year.
Osaka has gone viral on social media for her Robert Wun designed outfit, which sees her wearing both a hat and carrying an umbrella.
There has been a huge reaction to this unique attire, with there even being suggestions that Osaka’s outfit could put more pressure on her to win.
When going for such a bold choice of clothing it can split opinion, and now world number one Sabalenka has revealed what she really thinks of Osaka’s choice.

Aryna Sabalenka reveals what she really thinks about Naomi Osaka’s outfit
Sabalenka is the favorite to win the Australian Open title this year, and she has made an impressive start in her bid to lift a third title in Melbourne.
After beating Chinese qualifier Zhouxuan Bai, 6-3 6-1, Sabalenka was asked in her post-match press conference what she thought of Osaka’s outfit.
Sabalenka went on to call Osaka’s pre-match clothes ‘pretty cool’, and explained that she thought it really suited her personality.
“You know, that’s really beautiful about fashion that you can express yourself in any way,” answered Sabalenka. “It’s pretty free world. There is no judgment. There is just, like, one people see fashion in one way; other people see fashion in other way.
“You know, that’s why it’s so beautiful that you can feel free and go and show yourself, show your personality. I think yesterday that was a perfect fit of her personality, her culture, a lot of things. That was pretty cool.”
What has been the biggest upset at the Australian Open so far?
Aryna Sabalenka says if she would like to do something like Naomi Osaka
Like Osaka, Sabalenka is also a Nike athlete, but she is yet to walk on to the court in something anywhere near as eye-catching as the Japanese player.
While it has not happened yet, Sabalenka has revealed her hope for Nike to allow her to do something similar in the future, but admitted that there are no plans as of yet.
“For me, I wish Nike would let me do this kind of stuff, but not for this year,” said Sabalenka. “We are working on it, but I don’t know. I think I would be more like classy entrance. Maybe, I don’t know, maybe long coat or — I don’t know.
“I mean, I was fantasizing, trying to work it out, but not good enough yet. But I’ll come up with something cool next year, for sure.”
Aryna Sabalenka will NOT end the year as world number one – prove us wrong!
While she does not have the outfit just yet, Sabalenka is safely into the third round, where she will play Anastasia Potapova.
All eyes will be on Osaka for her on-court entrance once again, as she looks to join Sabalenka in the third round when she plays Sorana Cirstea on Thursday, January 22.
