Just when you think you’ve seen it all…

Naomi Osaka managed to steal the headlines before she’d even hit a ball at the 2026 Australian Open.

Walking onto the court with an umbrella, hat, and more, Osaka’s entrance was one for the ages.

The Japanese star certainly looked the part, as she prepared to begin her assault on a third Australian Open title.

But did the extravagant entrance pile more pressure onto the former world number one?

On commentary for TNT Sports, Tim Henman, Laura Robson, and Anne Keothavong shared their thoughts.

‘You have to back it up’ – Laura Robson on Naomi Osaka’s entrance

The British trio couldn’t quite believe what they were seeing on Rod Laver Arena.

“Wow, I mean, I love it, this is a moment. First impressions, Tim [Henman] and Anne [Keothavong]?” asked Robson.

“No, this is over to you two; I’m not qualified to comment,” said Henman.

“I am speechless.”

“She’s making a statement, isn’t she!” added Keothavong.

“I’ve never seen anything quite like it, that is the ultimate walk on, isn’t it?”

Henman and Robson continued to marvel at the world number 17’s outfit.

“I thought the warm-up jacket was impressive… But wow, look at that,” said Henman.

“The umbrella, the hat is like a Beyonce formation moment,” added Robson.

“That is brilliant.”

The Brits then questioned whether wearing such an impressive outfit would add pressure on Osaka to perform.

“It’s pretty cool, does it put pressure on your performance, if you lose 6-2, 6-1?” asked Henman.

“I respect it, but I do think you have to back it up with a performance to match,” said Robson.

While Henman, by his own admission, is not one to judge fashion, he was entertained to say the least.

“In my humble opinion, I think she’s absolutely owned it, hasn’t she?” he said.

“She’s walked out, said this is me. That was wild!”

Osaka’s entrance will be talked about for quite some time, but it’s not the first time she’s done something like this…
