Andy Roddick revealed that he sent a text message to Andy Murray during Wimbledon.
The Brit received an emotional farewell during what is set to be his final appearance at the All-England Club as a player.
The 37-year-old was very emotional as he was given a standing ovation by all those on Centre Court paying their respects to a tennis legend.
Plenty of former players paid tribute to Murray and his glittering career, including the 2003 US Open champion.
What did Andy Roddick say in his text message to Andy Murray?
Murray was unable to play at singles in his final Wimbledon due to back surgery, but he did play doubles alongside his brother Jamie.
They took on the Australian pair of Rinky Hijikata and John Peers, but despite their best efforts they were beaten 7-6(6), 6-4.
He was due to compete in the mixed doubles alongside Emma Raducanu, but the 21-year-old withdrew due to a wrist problem.
During his final Wimbledon appearance, Roddick took to his ‘Served’ podcast to explain what message he sent to his former colleague.
“I sent him a text one of those days and gave him my respect and basically said I always respected the way that you went about it. I think his on court persona, being this surly, angsty, grumpy guy is not what he is in my experience away from the court,” Roddick said.
“He is always up for a joke and he will shred you to your face with a direct tone and you’ll realise 12 seconds later that he just annihilated you in good fun. I always enjoyed that and being around Andy Murray. I’m glad he got that send off, it was well deserved.”

What was Andy Murray and Andy Roddick’s head-to-head record?
Murray and Roddick competed against one another on 11 occasions between 2006 and 2011.
Roddick won on three occasions, with the first coming at the Cincinnati Masters before beating the Brit for a second time in Memphis.
His third and final win over Murray came in the 2009 Wimbledon semi-finals. Roddick claimed a four set to advance to his third and final championship match at SW19, where he lost to Roger Federer in a five-set epic.
Murray won their other eight meetings, including their final encounter at the Paris Masters, which he claimed for the loss of just four games.
