Barbora Krejcikova wowed the Wimbledon crowd this year, with the Czech star lifting the iconic trophy at SW19.
The doubles specialist surprised many on her way to the final, where Jasmine Paolini stood in her way of glory.
The duo played out a thrilling battle on Centre Court in London, with Krejcikova emerging victorious 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
The 31st seed now has her second Grand Slam singles title at the age of 28, having won the 2021 French Open.
Krejcikova followed in the footsteps of her late friend and coach Jana Novotna, who won Wimbledon in 1998 and inspired her to turn professional.

Before the final, however, Krejcikova also revealed plenty of admiration for two-time All England Club winner Andy Murray.

Contrasting times for Barbora Krejcikova and Andy Murray at Wimbledon
It was an unforgettable Wimbledon for Krejcikova, who has made it back-to-back successes for Czech players in the women’s singles after Marketa Vondrousova’s 2023 title.
Krejcikova clinching the Venus Rosewater Dish also means there has now been a first-time women’s champion for the eighth Wimbledon in a row, as per OptaAce.
Murray meanwhile was forced to withdraw from the men’s singles due to injury, while his planned mixed doubles appearance with Emma Raducanu was also cancelled.
The women’s star withdrew due to injury, with former British number one Greg Rusedski understanding of Raducanu’s decision to not play alongside Murray.
Fortunately the Scot was given a fitting tribute after partnering with his brother Jamie in the men’s doubles, with the likes of Serena Williams and Coco Gauff sending messages to Andy Murray following his Wimbledon farewell.
