Andy Roddick has made precision for four of the ATP’s young stars ahead of 2025.

The ATP is ushering in a new era with the ‘Big 3’ of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal or Novak Djokovic either retired or in the latter stage of their careers.

This was most evident in the 2024 Grand Slam season with Carlos Alcaraz, 21, and Jannik Sinner, 23, splitting tennis’ four biggest hours between them.

They occupy the ATP Tour’s top two ranking spots and Andy Roddick thinks they will be joined in the top ten by some of their fellow young players.

What is Andy Roddick’s ranking prediction for Ben Shelton and Jack Draper in 2025?

Fans are interested to see who will flourish in 2025 on the ATP Tour. There are several young players who are eager to take their game to the next level and challenge Alcaraz and Sinner for Grand Slam titles.

Roddick named four players he thinks will reach their career best ranking next season and break into the top 10, two of which are Ben Shelton and British number one Jack Draper.

“Pericard, Shelton, Draper, Fils. I promise none of these guys have seen their career high ranking yet. All will be around the top 10 next year, in my humble opinion,” he told listeners on his ‘Served’ podcast.

“Big things for Ben Shelton next year. The first time he left the country was Australia two years ago in January.

“This was on the job training by the result of his successes early. He didn’t have two years in the challengers. He played in Florida and then he played on the tour.”

The young generation have made big strides on the ATP Tour in 2024

Alcaraz and Sinner have won 11 titles between them in 2024, in addition to the Spaniard’s silver medal from the Paris Olympics.

They will be the favourites for the Grand Slams next year, but the four players Roddick mentioned will be keen to have a strong run at the majors. Shelton has been tipped o win a major, and in August he reached a career-high ranking of number 13.

Shelton just fell short of winning the Basel Open against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, who has won two titles this year and is on the cusp of breaking into the top 30.

Draper reached his first Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open and claimed the biggest title of his career at the Basel Open on Sunday.

Arthur Fils on the other hand, who is still just 20, has two titles to his name in 2024 and is currently ranked at number 20, his highest so far.
