Andy Murray’s coaching partnership with Novak Djokovic continues to make headlines in 2025, as the pair prepare for the Miami Open.
24-time Major champion Djokovic joined forces with Murray ahead of the 2025 season, searching for further success on the ATP Tour.
The Brit coached Djokovic to the semi-finals of the Australian Open earlier this year, where he retired injured against Alexander Zverev having dropped the first set.
Returning alongside the Serb at Indian Wells, Murray oversaw a disappointing second-round exit at the hands of Botic van de Zandschulp.
With Djokovic set to make his return to action at the Miami Open, Murray took the time to watch two of tennis’ brightest stars battle it out.

Murray took to X to share his thoughts on Joao Fonseca’s thrilling win over Learner Tien in the first round of the Miami Open.
“What an incredible atmosphere,” he said.
“[Joao] Fonseca and [Learner] Tien are amazing talents.
“Tennis isn’t broken after all.”
The atmosphere was electric during Fonseca and Tien’s first-round clash, as fans cheered the Brazilian on to a 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Even Fonseca was surprised by the support he received from the crowd, writing ‘Am I in Brazil’ on the camera lens after the match.
Murray’s remark about the sport not being ‘broken after all’ could well be referring to the controversial news of the PTPA lawsuit against the tennis tours, which broke earlier this week.
With the likes of Fonseca and Tien leading the way, there shouldn’t be too much to worry about as fans continue to enjoy the youngsters battle it out on the ATP Tour.
Joao Fonseca secures his third straight win over Learner Tien
Fonseca and Tien may only have become professionals recently, but they have already played one another three times.
It’s the Brazilian who has had the better of things, winning all three matches, establishing his dominance against the American.

Fonseca beat Tien to win the Next Gen ATP Finals title last year, lifting the biggest trophy of his young career in Saudi Arabia.
They both enjoyed big wins at the Australian Open earlier this year and have continued their rise up the rankings, now residing in the world’s top 70.

Tien will drop a place following his defeat to Fonseca but the Brazilian has an opportunity to rise even further should he win his second-round match in Florida.
Joao Fonseca looks for revenge against Ugo Humbert at the Miami Open
Fonseca will be up against it in the second round of the Miami Open as he takes on 19th seed Ugo Humbert.
The pair played in a Davis Cup qualifying match last month, as Humbert proved too much for the youngster, breezing past him in straight sets.
Fonseca played some thrilling tennis at times but couldn’t keep up, losing 5-7, 3-6, as Brazil’s title dreams were crushed by France as they fell to a convincing 0-4 defeat.
The Frenchman went on to win his seventh ATP title shortly after, taking down Hamad Medjedovic in the Marseille final.
It remains to be seen who will come out on top in their second career meeting but it will certainly be worth a watch when Humbert plays Fonseca for a place in the third round on Saturday, March 22.
