Amanda Anisimova was among the standout players on the WTA Tour in 2025, reaching two Grand Slam finals.
Anisimova has been backed to win a Grand Slam in 2026, having just lost the Wimbledon and US Open finals.
Unsurprisingly, Anisimova enjoyed her 2025 WTA season, in which she clinched two titles to take her career tally to four.
She’s ended the year ranked fourth in the world, which represents a career-high for the 24-year-old American.
Who is your favorite player on the WTA Tour right now?
Amanda Anisimova would find it ‘so cool’ to play doubles with Serena Williams
Anisimova has now been sharing insight into her career and life ahead of the new season, taking on a Would You Rather challenge for SELF.
One question read: Would you rather play doubles with Serena Williams or have a coaching session with Maria Sharapova?
Anisimova replied: “Ohh both would be amazing.
“I think I would go with a personalized coaching session.
“But then also to play doubles with Serena would be so cool.”

What is Amanda Anisimova’s doubles record?
Like many of her fellow WTA singles players have done, Anisimova has delved into doubles during her career.
But she has played just 12 matches so far, winning four and losing eight, and reaching a career-high rank of 386th.
She has twice made it to the second round of the French Open, with her Grand Slam doubles record in stark contrast to that of Williams.
Williams could make a comeback in 2026, which would see the return of a 14-time Grand Slam doubles champion.
Who will win the 2026 Australian Open?
She also boasts two mixed doubles titles at that level, and just as she achieved in singles, Williams is a former world number one in doubles.
Intriguingly, however, Anisimova opted instead for a coaching session with legendary figure Sharapova, who won five Grand Slam titles during her fantastic career.
Anisimova is yet to achieve such success, but came agonisingly close in 2025 with final losses to Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka in London and New York respectively.
