The WTA rankings have been updated following the latest tournaments, and it’s good news for both Alexandra Eala and Iva Jovic.
Eala and Jovic both played in the Dubai Tennis Championships, where Jessica Pegula beat Elina Svitolina in the final.
Pegula defeated Jovic en route to the WTA 1000 title, winning their all-American round of 16 encounter 6-4, 6-2.
Meanwhile, Eala was beaten by Coco Gauff in the Dubai quarterfinals, where she suffered a heavy 6-0, 6-2 loss.

Alexandra Eala and Iva Jovic earn career-high rankings
Despite their relatively early exits, both Eala and Jovic have now soared to new career-high rankings on the WTA Tour.
Eala now finds herself as the world number 31, while her fellow rising star Jovic is all the way up in world number 18.
The Filipina ace is just 20 years old, while American Jovic is just 18, with both players heading for very bright futures indeed.

It is a similar story for Jakub Mensik on the ATP Tour, with the 20-year-old now in his career-high rank of 13th.
He just reached the semifinals of the Qatar Open in Doha, where world number one Carlos Alcaraz emerged victorious.
Also making major moves on the WTA Tour is world number 36 Janice Tjen, who has just become the first Indonesian woman to be ranked in the Top 40 since 1998.

Alexandra Eala reacts to career-high rank as Iva Jovic rapidly moves on
Eala has already shared her delight at her latest rise, with the youngster sharing her new rank on social media.
She celebrated the update on her Instagram story with the simple message: “Touching 3!” along with a handful of emojis.
Jovic, however, has little time to celebrate her latest milestone as she turns her focus to the ATX Open in Austin.

The teenager is the second seed at the WTA 250 tournament in Texas, where she takes on Anna Blinkova in her opening match.
An intriguing match-up is on the cards should she triumph, with a blockbuster second round meeting with Venus Williams set to take place if she can beat Ajla Tomljanovic.
Jovic is also playing doubles in Austin alongside Mary Stoiana, with the duo meeting Caty McNally and Kimberly Birrell first up.

On the ATP Tour, Mensik is also rapidly returning to action, taking on Hubert Hurkacz in his Dubai Tennis Championships opener.
Tournaments in Acapulco and Santiago are also taking place, while the Merida Open runs alongside the ATX Open.
