Alexander Zverev is open to being coached by Boris Becker but he needs something clarified first.
After suffering a devastating ankle injury at the 2022 French Open, it took the German some time before turning to his best level.
But that’s exactly what he did in 2024, as Alexander Zverev won 69 matches in 2024, the second highest on tour, and climbed back to his career-high ranking of number two.
He is now looking to take his game to the next level in 2025, and having one of the game’s legends in his corner may help him achieve that.

What does Alexander Zverev think of being coached by Boris Becker?
Zverev is currently coached by his father Alexander Zverev Sr and his team also includes physio Hugo Gravil.
Though they made progress in 2024, Zverev has still yet to win a grand Slam title. He came close in June when he was just one set away from winning the French Open.
But Carlos Alcaraz stormed back to claim the title and the 27-year-old’s long and agonizing wait for a major continues.
Boris Becker, who coached Novak Djokovic to plenty of success, could be the man to help guide Zverev to Grand Slam glory. The player is keen on the idea of being coached by Becker, but he has just one query.

“I love Boris and I also believe that he has an incredible knowledge of tennis,” Zverev told Tennis Magazin. “But I don’t know how he feels about travelling. That’s the only question mark for him.
“As soon as he has solved and clarified that, we can talk about it. We are always in contact with him and often talk to each other. Now for Australia, it will stay as it is and then I will see.”
Which players has Boris Becker coached?
Becker’s first coaching assignment on the ATP Tour was none other than the reigning Olympic champion, Djokovic.
The 57-year-old coached the Serbian from 2013 to 2016 and he won six Grand Slam titles and 14 Masters 1000 titles.
One of those championships included the French open in 2016, when Djokovic completed the set of Grand Slam titles.
Becker then briefly coached Holger Rune from October 2023 to February 2024, as he has not been a coach since. If things go well Zverev could be the next player that ahs Becker in their corner.
