Alexander Zverev is riding a bit of a crest of a wave just now and he’s proving an extremely dangerous player.
The German performer is once again in the last four of an event with the Halle Open now in his sights.
The 27-year-old has followed up his run to the final at the French Open by reaching the semi-final in the pre-Wimbledon warm-up.
Zverev is a top player and today he will aim to overcome Polish performer Hubert Hurkacz to reach another final.
After beating French player Arthur Fils, he has discussed something which hasn’t quite gone according to plan for him on the grass.

Many of the top players aren’t keen on playing on grass with the surface the trickiest to adapt to.
However, most players dream of winning the showpiece event at Wimbledon and that makes playing on grass a necessity.
Zverev has been in fine form so far during 2024 and he will be hoping to go deep when things get underway at SW19 in July.
However, he’s confessed that something hasn’t quite gone according to plan after switching to grass this year.
He told the ATP Tour’s official website: “After the French Open, I was hoping on grass I would play a bit quicker and not play for two-and-a-half, three hours every single match, but I’m continuing what I always do.
“I’m happy to be winning and be in the semi-finals.”
Zverev is a serious contender for Wimbledon crown
The talented player could go all the way at Halle but ultimately that won’t be the prize that is firmly on his mind.
Zverev’s record at Wimbledon isn’t particularly great and he will want to change that when things get underway next month.
The French Open and US Open finalist has never gone beyond the fourth round at Wimbledon and for a player of his talent that simply won’t do.
Zverev is knocking on the door when it comes to the Grand Slam titles and frankly it looks like a matter of time before he wins one.
Whether that comes at Wimbledon in a couple of weeks remains to be seen but it would appear that his preparation is going extremely well.
