Alex de Minaur continued his success on the ATP Tour by clinching the Rotterdam Open title, but Taylor Fritz couldn’t do the same at the Dallas Open.

De Minaur beat Felix Auger-Aliassime in Rotterdam for his 11th career ATP title, winning their match 6-3, 6-2.

The Australian secured the trophy at the third time of asking, having lost the 2024 and 2025 Rotterdam Open finals to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz respectively.

Shortly after in the Dallas Open final, Fritz lost 6-3, 3-6, 5-7 to Ben Shelton in an all-American, one-two seed battle.

The first and second seeds played in all three ATP finals this week, with Francisco Cerundolo also beating Luciano Darderi in the Argentina Open.

Alex de Minaur rises as Taylor Fritz falls in ATP rankings update

The ATP rankings have now been updated following the three finals, with Rotterdam champion De Minaur climbing two spots to sixth, his joint career-high.

Rotterdam runner-up Auger-Aliassime has dropped one place to seventh, with Dallas runner-up Fritz falling one place to eighth.

Despite clinching the title on home soil, Shelton has remained in ninth place, just ahead of Alexander Bublik in 10th.

The top five hasn’t changed, and comprises Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev and Lorenzo Musetti.

And also despite winning his home tournament, Cerundolo’s rank of 19th is unchanged, while losing finalist Darderi has climbed one place to 21st.

It was a fantastic week for all six finalists, although arguably more so for De Minaur than any other player.

He secured two superb feats alongside his title that should really boost the Australian’s confidence going forward.

De Minaur now has 53 ATP 500 match wins since 2023, more than any other player, with Alcaraz next on 44 and Sinner on 43.

Moreover, he has just become the first player to beat Auger-Aliassime on indoor hard courts this season, ending an eight-match win streak.

Who is going to win the 2026 men’s Qatar Open?

With no Alcaraz or Sinner at the Rotterdam Open, it was a glorious chance for someone to step up and make the most of the situation, and De Minaur has done exactly that.

The new world number six is now taking a brief break from the ATP Tour, while Alcaraz and Sinner return at the Qatar Open this week.
