Novak Djokovic has another chance of claiming a record 25th Grand Slam title at Roland Garros this year.
But he enters the tournament at an intriguing time, having played just one match on clay in 2026, and just 10 matches across all surfaces.
Moreover, ATP icon Djokovic lost that clay-court match, falling 6-2, 2-6, 4-6 to Dino Prizmic in his opener at the Italian Open.
The Serbian veteran now turns his focus to Roland Garros, ahead of which Alex Corretja has suggested his current feelings.
Can any of these four players stop Jannik Sinner winning the French Open this year?
Is there anyone else you think could be a threat to Sinner?
How Novak Djokovic feels entering Roland Garros
Corretja told TNT Sports: “I think it is, well, amazing that he’s still around and he’s still willing to do well. I was happy enough to see him going to play in Rome, hopefully to get a few matches.
“When that didn’t happen, I was thinking, ‘Oh, maybe he’s going to play Geneva again and try to see if he can play a few matches before Roland-Garros,’ but it didn’t happen.
“So I’m not so sure how he feels physically, if he’s ready or not. It’s not that easy to go from almost playing nothing to playing best-of-five [sets].
“But I believe he feels like, ‘Okay, as the matches will go on and the tournament will go on, I will get the rhythm that I was missing in the last, let’s say, weeks, nearly months’.
“So it’s a bit tricky. He’s got experience, and sometimes when you play Roland-Garros, it’s about experience but also the physique needs to help you.
“I don’t think there are more than, let’s say, five guys maybe in the draw that can beat him if he’s okay and if he’s ready.
“If he’s not ready, yeah, of course you can lose to anyone because tennis is so hard nowadays.”

How has Novak Djokovic performed in 2026?
Djokovic has a 7-3 win-loss record from those 10 matches this season, having competed in just three tournaments.
But the legendary figure showed all of his class in his first outing, making it all the way to the final of the Australian Open, losing to Carlos Alcaraz.
He took a lengthy break before returning at Indian Wells, where the Serbian won twice before losing to Jack Draper in the round of 16.
Djokovic has since briefly been in Rome, but is now seeking to enjoy another remarkable run on the biggest stage in Paris.
Currently fourth in the ATP rankings, Djokovic has claimed three titles at Roland Garros during his phenomenal career.
