The inclusion of Carlos Alcaraz in the Spain squad for the Davis Cup might not be the only talking point.
Alcaraz pledged himself to captain David Ferrer after weeks of speculation, with his rival Jannik Sinner copping some flak for choosing not to play.
Alcaraz has bolstered the Spain squad by choosing to play for his country after the ATP Finals, with the Czech Republic first up in the quarterfinals.
The six-time Grand Slam champion is clearly the star attraction for Team Spain, but the next compatriot behind him in the ATP rankings has been left out.
It’s fair to say that he’s a little bit miffed by the decision made by Ferrer.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina reacts after being left out of Davis Cup squad
Despite being the world number 18, Davidovich Fokina has been omitted from the squad.
Although the player missed the group stage matches against Switzerland and Denmark earlier this year, it was anticipated that he would make the cut.
However, he’s been left out of things, meaning his season will come to a premature end in the coming weeks.
After failing to win his place back alongside Alcaraz, Davidovich Fokina has now been interviewed by Marca.
He told them: “It was captain David Ferrer’s decision, and I respect it. Obviously, I would have loved to be on the roster representing my country, but this time he decided to include other players.
“Being ranked 18th in the world, I think I deserve to be among the four best players in my country, with all due respect to my teammates, who, as I said, are also great players. Now my goal is to focus on the rest of the season and prepare myself to reach the highest level next year.
“As long as I’m physically fit and on the roster, I’ll be proud to represent my country and fight to lead the team to victory.”
Who will join Carlos Alcaraz on Team Spain
The four players selected are all still capable of doing a job if called upon, with Alcaraz the main man.
He will be joined by Jaume Munar, who has progressed to number 42 in the world rankings this year.
Roberto Bautista Agut is the number 87, but having dropped 30 players this year, he’s been ousted by Pedro Martinez and Marcel Granollers.
With Alcaraz choosing to play and Sinner declining Italy’s offer, Spain might be heavily fancied.
However, Alcaraz couldn’t help Rafael Nadal finish his career with a flourish at last year’s event, with Holland beating them in the quarterfinals.
