It was the end of the road for Tommy Paul though as he lost to number one seed Jannik Sinner in straight sets. Daniil Medvedev and Alex De Minaur also won their respective matches.
On the women’s front, Iga Swiatek is still yet to drop a set after her 6-4, 6-1 victory against Liudmila Samsonova.
American favorite Jessica Pegula joined Emma Navarro in the quarter-finals after beating Russian Diana Shnaider.
Beatriz Haddad Maia beat two-time finalist Caroline Wozniacki while Karolina Muchova advanced past Jasmine Paolini.
