Victoria Mboko has just improved her stock on the WTA Tour even further after the Qatar Open, where she finished as runner-up.
Mboko lost the Qatar Open final to Karolina Muchova, but can hold her head very high after a fantastic run in Doha.
Just 19 years old, Mboko defeated Mirra Andreeva and Elena Rybakina en route to the final of the WTA 1000 tournament.
It followed the teenager’s fourth round run at the Australian Open, which Mboko entered after losing the Adelaide International final to Andreeva.

Victoria Mboko sets WTA example with incredible rankings rise
Andreeva has been setting the standard for young players on the WTA Tour in recent times, typified by her back-to-back 1000 success in Dubai and Indian Wells in 2025.
The 18-year-old remains hugely relevant and impressive at seventh in the world, but now Mboko is very much the teenager who other players should look up to, especially thanks to her incredible rise through the rankings.
In January just last year, the Canadian was ranked 333rd in the world, before breaking into the Top 200 in March.
Mboko then entered the WTA Top 100 in June, and the Top 50 after clinching the Montreal title on home soil in August.
A Top 20 debut followed in November, with the hugely talented teenager currently in her career-high rank of 13.
But that record is now set to be broken again after her run in Qatar, with Mboko set for her Top 10 debut on the WTA Tour.
