As the curtain starts to come down on the 2025 campaign, there are a few more tournaments to play on the ATP Tour.
The Vienna Open and the Swiss Indoors get going this week, and there is also the Paris Masters to look forward to, with the final ATP 1000 event still to come.
After that, the Davis Cup will take centre-stage, with Carlos Alcaraz chosen to play for Spain, and then attention will turn towards the ATP Finals.
Felix Auger-Aliassime bolstered his chances of a place at the finals this weekend, and he’s now hot on the heels of Lorenzo Musetti in the ATP rankings.
There has been some speculation over the excitement levels at the ATP Finals in recent weeks and now it would appear there is a potential problem brewing.

With the event being held in Turin, fans will pack out the arena to try and catch a glimpse of home favourite Jannik Sinner as he looks to win the tournament once again.
Sinner and Alcaraz will be on a collision course for success at the event and although they won’t mind one bit, the rest of the field could prove a bit of an underwhelming crop.
Although the players there will be there on merit, the likes of Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton and Alex de Minaur are hardly in blistering form going into the finals.
Taylor Fritz beat Alcaraz at the Laver Cup, but when the pair met in the Japan Open final, things returned to business as usual, with Fritz beaten to continue reservations of him beating the big players in competitive tournaments.
Novak Djokovic is also a player who can get people packed into arenas but after the Six Kings Slam, there is absolutely no saying that he will definitely play the event.
ATP Finals could be worst in history for excitement
Gone are the days when you’d have the big three competing with Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga throwing in for good measure.
It does feel like a bit of a watered-down event these days but, it’s fair to say that Sinner and Alcaraz won’t mind that one bit.
Those two players will go into the event bang in form, and that should at least see the players come through the field and make the final of another competition.
There is a problem with the rivalry at the moment, in that there doesn’t seem to be a third man who pops up every now and again to pinch Grand Slams away from Alcaraz and Sinner.
That is something that all the players currently in the top 10 must look to improve on, but for now, their dominance is going to do no favours to the excitement levels at the ATP Finals.
