Coco Gauff is still striving for a formula that can see her dominate the WTA Tour in the near future.
At 21-years-old, Gauff has won a US Open and French Open but there is a sense that more could have been done with her career so far.
Gauff has admitted she’s learned from Novak Djokovic, but unlike the Serbian, she’s yet to truly dominate her respective tour.
Gauff has been criticised for her serve this year, and clearly, that remains one thing for her to work on going into 2026.
Andy Roddick is a big fan of Gauff’s, and after another positive year, there are plenty of reasons to be cheerful for the American.

Coco Gauff capable of having the fastest serve on the tour
The fact that Gauff boasts a lot of power yet can’t seem to master the serve is quite remarkable.
Some people talk like she can’t win things without the serve being better, but Gauff has already proven that she has considerable strengths to call upon.
Rick Macci used to coach Serena Williams, and he believes that Gauff is close to mastering things with the serve, and if she does, she could be unstoppable.
He said on X: “Coco and her serve has improved 100%. The science based adaptations from the ground up has been completely sequenced correctly and as a result the Delray Dart will feel more organized and stable from the launch point. The Culprit of the problems has been finally pointed not symptoms out but most of all corrected. Fasten your seat belt. First serves can reach 130 in 2026.”
Gauff would have considerable weapon with 130mph serve
If Gauff can use Aryna Sabalenka as inspiration and up the ante on serve, things could get very interesting indeed next year.
Sabalenka was horrendous on serve in 2022, and her double-fault figures weren’t too dissimilar to the 405 that have come from Gauff’s racket this year.
Clearly, improving is something that Gauff is looking to do with the talented youngster keen to start winning more silverware on the tour.
| Rank | Player | Speed | Event |
| 1 | Georgina Garcia Perez | 136.7mph | 2018 Hungarian Ladies Open |
| 2 | Aryna Sabalenka | 133.0mph | 2018 WTA Elite Trophy |
| 3 | Sabine Lisicki | 131.0mph | 2014 Stanford |
If Gauff can improve to lower the number of double faults and get her serve up to 130mph, things could be about to get really crazy for the American player.
The fastest serve on the WTA Tour this year came from the racket of Liudmila Samsonova who clocked 128mph at this year’s Wimbledon.
Clearly, she doesn’t do it frequently, though and the challenge has now been set for Gauff.
Gauff will naturally win more titles as her career progresses but if she dreams of total dominance, clocking regular speeds of 130mph would certainly help her cause.
