Stefanos Tsitsipas has been in the news a lot recently, but not for his on-court results.
The former world number three has made some big coaching moves recently, as Tsitsipas parted ways with Goran Ivanisevic following a disappointing grass-court season.
Replacing Ivanisevic, Tsitsipas rehired his father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, as his coach, whom he had controversially split with 12 months ago.

Making his first competitive appearance with his father back in the team, Tsitsipas lost to Christopher O’Connell in his second-round match at the Canadian Open.
As he continues to struggle on the ATP Tour, Tsitsipas might need to prepare himself for some tough questions over the coming months.
Stefanos Tsitsipas could be criticized for coaching decisions if results don’t improve
Tsitsipas’ defeat to O’Connell was one of his worst of the season, given the Australian had travelled to Toronto riding a seven-match losing streak.
The Greek’s backhand was well below par throughout, as Tsitsipas slumped to a 4-6, 6-4, 2-6 defeat in Toronto.
Tsitsipas has now won just one of his last six matches, across the Halle Open, Wimbledon, the Hopman Cup, and the Canadian Open.
| Match | Opponent | Result | Score |
| 2025 Canadian Open – 2R | Christopher O’Connell | Loss | 4-6, 6-4, 2-6 |
| 2025 Hopman Cup | Felix Auger-Aliassime | Loss | 6-7, 3-6 |
| 2025 Hopman Cup | Roberto Bautista Agut | Loss | 3-6, 7-6 [8-10] |
| 2025 Wimbledon – 1R | Valentin Royer | Loss | 3-6, 2-6 (RET) |
| 2025 Halle Open – 2R | Alex Michelsen | Loss | 6-7, 5-7 |
| 2025 Halle Open – 1R | Luciano Darderi | Win | 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 |
Having split with Ivanisevic, Tsitsipas would have hoped for an immediate bounce with his father back in the picture, but the same problems remained in Toronto.
Once ranked number three in the world, Tsitsipas is fast heading in the wrong direction, as his place in the top 30 could be at risk by the end of the Canadian Open.

He is also now set to face increased scrutiny, with his father back as his coach, as the pair had a frosty relationship at times while working together in the past.
Whilst Ivanisevic had Grand Slam pedigree as a coach, A. Tsitsipas has the majority of his experience coaching his son and the Greek Davis Cup team.
Therefore, should results fail to improve over the coming months, fans will likely call for Tsitsipas to make another coaching change.
Tsitsipas will be confident of turning things around, however, and rediscover the form that saw him win several big titles with his father by his side.
