Coco Gauff can take plenty of confidence from her serving efforts at Wimbledon, where she fell in the semifinals.
Karolina Muchova beat Gauff at that stage of the Grand Slam, before going on to lose the Wimbledon final to her fellow Czech Linda Noskova.
And even though the American fell short of reaching another major final, Gauff can hold her head high after her run, which was helped by a much-improved service game.

Perhaps most significantly, Gauff recorded 28 aces during her time at Wimbledon, behind only Muchova, Noskova and Naomi Osaka.
Notably, it was two more than top seed Aryna Sabalenka, although the WTA number one did admittedly fall in the round of 16.
Still, Gauff should be focusing on herself, and she should be happy with an area of her game that has given her plenty of stress throughout her career.

A particular standout was her hard-fought quarterfinal win over compatriot Jessica Pegula, in which Gauff recorded seven aces.
She also impressively finished the match with a 1st serve in figure of 63% and a 1st serve points won figure of 67%.
However, Gauff’s demons almost came back to haunt her in that victory, with the American having also recorded seven double faults.
But she improved to just two against Muchova, and again impressed elsewhere with 70% of 1st serve points won and 60% of 2nd serve points won despite the loss.
Another highlight was her net points won total of 71%, with all three of those statistics ranking better than her opponent, who won in three sets after two hours and 35 minutes.

As it always is, a strong service game proved crucial once again this year at Wimbledon, as demonstrated by the top ace hitters.
Muchova and Noskova both made the final, while Gauff made it to the last four and Osaka made it to the quarterfinals.

Incidentally, that makes Elena Rybakina’s third round exit all the more surprising, with the Kazakhstani star currently leading the WTA ace chart for 2026.
Comfortably at the top, she’s followed in second place by Wimbledon champion Noskova, with their fellow star server Sabalenka in third.
Meanwhile, in the unwanted list of most double faults, Gauff unfortunately finds herself well ahead of her rivals with 257.
