After clinching a maiden French Open title, Coco Gauff will now set her sights on Wimbledon, where she could complete a three-surface Grand Slam sweep at just 21 years of age.

Gauff triumphed on the clay courts of Paris this season, won the US Open on hard-court in 2023, and now just needs a crown on grass at the All England Club to complete the set.

Despite her hot recent form, however, a deep run in South West London won’t come easily, as Wimbledon is the major where the American has struggled the most at throughout her career.

Grass has always been Gauff‘s least preferred surface, and to hold the famous trophy aloft on Centre Court in July, she’ll need to show some big changes in her game heading into the third Grand Slam of the season.

Coco Gauff’s biggest wins on grass and career record on the surface

Gauff has a career win percentage of 68% on grass, tallying a win-loss record of 21-10 on the surface since her tour debut in 2019.

She has competed on 10 grass-court events in her career, but has never emerged victorious at one.

Despite making the semi-finals at the Berlin Open and the Eastbourne International, which are her best finishes on the surface to date, Gauff has failed to go all the way at an event on grass.

Of the 10 titles she has won in her career, eight of them have come on hard-court, while two of them have come on clay.

Coco Gauff’s record at Wimbledon ahead of the 2025 championships

Gauff has won both the US Open and Roland Garros, and has made the semi-final of the Australian Open, but has only ever made it as far as the Round of 16 at Wimbledon.

In her debut at the tournament, she had one of her best runs, making the fourth round at just 15 years old after earning a shocking victory over compatriot Venus Williams in the first round.

That year, she lost to the eventual champion, Simona Halep, in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

Two years later, she made round four at the event again, but lost to former world number one Angelique Kerber.

Gauff’s worst campaign at Wimbledon was in 2023, when in the first round she was overcome by Sofia Kenin in three sets.
