WTA Brisbane International predictions

The Tennis Gazette writers predict which player will lift the WTA Brisbane International trophy next Sunday.

Matthew Johns: Aryna Sabalenka is the obvious pick to defend her title, but I’m going with Elena Rybakina instead. Rybakina finished the 2025 season in sensational form, and I’m expecting more of the same in Australia!

George Patten: Aryna Sabalenka is the favorite, but don’t count out Amanda Anisimova. The American enjoyed her best season yet in 2025, and if she can carry that form through to the new year, Anisimova could pick up a few titles Down Under…

Peter Lynch: It’s definitely the easy option, but I think Aryna Sabalenka is still the player to beat in Brisbane. But here’s hoping for an upset!

Cameron Greenlees: Most will go for Sabalenka, but if the last tournament of the 2025 season is anything to go by, I’m picking Elena Rybakina. The former Wimbledon champion put together an incredible run at the WTA Finals, and I think that form will carry through to the Australian swing.
