The Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia is the newest edition to the tennis calendar and fans have been buzzing with excitement ever since the line-up was announced.
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, and Holger Rune will all face off in Riyadh this week trying to take home the inaugural Six Kings Slam trophy.
The Six Kings Slam winner will take home $6,000,000, a record-breaking prize pot, almost double what a Grand Slam winner would expect to receive.
It’s set to be an enthralling event – and one that former Grand Slam finalist Greg Rusedski is seriously looking forward to.
Greg Rusedski excited for Six Kings Slam
Speaking to DAZN, Rusedski couldn’t hide his excitement at the potential matchups we could see in Riyadh this week.
“It’s just unbelievable to think about it, you have two of the all-time greats.
“Probably the two best players in the history of our sport,” said Rusedski referring to Nadal and Djokovic.
The younger generation facing off is just as much of a draw for the 51-year-old however.
“You have the young bucks coming up, Alcaraz and Sinner, who shared all four majors this year,” said Rusedski.
“Let’s not forget Daniil Medvedev, [former] world number one, a slam winner, and Holger Rune, the guy that everybody thinks is going to be part of the mix.
“It’s an incredible event, we’ve been talking about it since the US Open, and I can’t believe this event is happening.”

Who will take home the inaugural Six Kings Slam?
It’s hard to look past the two young stars of Alcaraz and Sinner when discussing the most likely winner in Saudi Arabia.
The Serbian 24-time Slam winner will always be a contender but after Jannik Sinner beat Novak Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters final recently, many would give the edge to the Italian.
Medvedev also shouldn’t be counted out as a hard-court specialist, whilst Rune has produced upsets on the surface before, such as when he battled past Djokovic to take home the Paris Masters title back in 2022.
Rafael Nadal announced that he will be retiring at the end of November, due to various injury issues over recent years, and will be entering the event as a rank outsider.
But if history has told us anything about the 38-year-old Spaniard, it’s that counting him out is never a smart decision. In his penultimate tournament, who knows what surprises Nadal could spring up in Saudi Arabia.
The Six Kings Slam begins with the Quarter Finals on Wednesday, where Medvedev takes on Sinner, and Alcaraz faces off against Rune.
Legends Nadal and Djokovic have both received byes into the semi-finals.
