Following her breakthrough season last year, Victoria Mboko has enjoyed a promising start to 2026.
The Canadian star has made two finals this season, reaching the championship match at the Brisbane International and the Qatar Open.
Her Australian Open campaign ended in the fourth round with a loss to world number one Aryna Sabalenka.

Mboko lost to Karolina Muchova in the Qatar final and was beaten by fellow teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva in the Brisbane title bout.
Along with Andreeva, the 19-year-old star has created history on the WTA Tour this year.

Mboko‘s run to the final at the WTA 1000 event in Doha saw her crack the top ten in the WTA rankings for the first time in her career.
With a points tally of 3,246 she is closing in on 18-year-old Andreeva, who is ranked seventh in the world with a total of 4,786 points.
After Mboko’s rise, two teenagers are now ranked within the world’s top ten on the WTA Tour for the first time since 2009, according to Opta Ace.
The last two players to achieve the feat were Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki, who did so in July that year.

Mboko and Andreeva have played each other twice now, with both meetings coming this season.
They clashed for the first time in the Brisbane International final earlier this year, where Andreeva opened her account in the head-to-head.
The Russian delivered a dominant performance in Brisbane, beating Mboko in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1 to hoist the title.

Mboko earned revenge in the round of 16 at the Qatar Open, though, where the battle between the two was much closer.
After splitting sets in Doha, Andreeva and Mboko were forced to a decisive third-set tiebreak.
In the shootout, Mboko emerged victorious 7-5 to advance, before making her second final of the season.
