Laura Robson has explained what really impressed her about Andy Murray after his comprehensive victory over David Goffin.

The former Great Britain star has been speaking on Sky Sports Tennis.

So, what has Robson said about Murray after watching him play earlier this week? Let’s take a closer look…

What Laura Robson enjoyed about Andy Murray performance

Well, it would appear as though Robson was very impressed with Murray for his showing against Belgium player Goffin.

He came through in emphatic fashion 6-3, 6-2 and will face Andrey Rublev, the number five seed, in the round of 64.

Robson spotted one aspect of the performance from the 36-year-old that she really enjoyed.

She told Sky Sports Tennis: “Sometimes it can hurt you when you don’t perform because you know the level is there but you’re not showing it out on the match court – and it’s usually where he shines because he can pick up the intensity pretty quickly.

“That’s what I liked about today, he seemed more relaxed out there and about the situation – maybe the head-to-head played a part and he might have known he’d got his number.

“He was tactically aware and it was great to watch. I hope that run continues but obviously, he’s got a tough match in the next round.”

A relaxed Murray is extremely dangerous

The beauty of Murray when he plays tennis now is that he’s acutely aware that he’s coming to the end of his career.

It would appear that he’s now going to relax on the court and in turn that might help him produce more positive performances.

Beating Goffin wasn’t a complete surprise given that he’d beaten him on all seven occasions that they’d played before.

Robson is right to laud Murray for his latest showing and hopefully, he can relax just as much tonight when he faces Rublev.
