Alexander Zverev has reached the semi-finals of the ATP Finals in Turin, where he will face off against Taylor Fritz in a US Open rematch.
Zverev has enjoyed a stellar year on the ATP Tour, qualifying for the year-end finals in Turin as the number two seed.
The German added two Masters 1000 titles to his resume in 2024, winning a second Italian Open title in May, before Zverev won the Paris Masters earlier this month.
The 27-year-old also achieved his greatest Grand Slam result in four years, as Zverev reached the final of the French Open, losing out to Carlos Alcaraz in five sets.
It was a strong year for Zverev on the ATP Tour, but one particular defeat at this year’s US Open caused some big changes.

Speaking to Sky Sports following Zverev’s ATP Finals victory over Carlos Alcaraz, Gigi Salmon revealed what she heard happened with the German’s team after losing to Fritz at the US Open.
“I am hearing that there was a team sit down meeting after the US Open to look at things,” she said.
“It was said that things do have to change if you want to be up there with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, you have to change your game and that’s what he’s doing.”
Former British number one Laura Robson went on to explain what went wrong for Zverev in his US Open quarter-final defeat to Fritz.
“He lost to Taylor Fritz in that match from being too far back from the baseline,” she said.
“It was a match where they were both baseliners but Taylor just went for it when it matters most.
“He was opening up the lines and willing to come forward, even though he’s not that comfortable at the net.
“Whereas Zverev I think is a decent volleyer as he has the wing span and the anticipation but he just wasn’t brave enough on the day.
“So I can understand why they felt they needed to sit down and work on the practice court, but probably mental as well needed to be done because you have to have confidence to play that tennis when it matters most.”
Zverev has been praised for his work ethic on numerous occasions following the US Open, often seen practicing straight after matches.
Zverev was seen on court right after winning in Paris, earlier this month, and has been spotted doing the same this week in Turin.

Zverev advanced to the semi-finals of the ATP Finals, with an unbeaten 3-0 record, scoring wins over Andrey Rublev, Casper Ruud, and Alcaraz.
The German has looked imperious in Turin and is no doubt one of the favorites to take home the trophy on Sunday.
Zverev is a two-time ATP Finals champion having won in 2018 and 2021, and will be looking to win the title for a third time in 2024.
Zverev will now face off against Fritz in a US Open quarter-final rematch, where the American won in four sets.
If he were to advance to the final, the 27-year-old could come up against home favorite Jannik Sinner, who many expect to take home the trophy.
The ATP Finals semi-finals will take place on Saturday in Turin.
