Serena Williams enjoyed a stunning career on the court, with the 23-time Grand Slam champion now doing her utmost to keep tabs on the current tennis scene.
Williams lost on her professional debut, but recovered from that early disappointment in truly stunning fashion.
Iga Swiatek is keeping up with Serena Williams, but the current world number two has a long way to go to fully emulate the career of the American legend.
Williams won a huge 73 WTA Tour-level titles during her career, unsurprisingly reaching the summit of women’s tennis and staying there for some time at her peak.
Talent and determination undoubtedly combined to help her achieve such success, but as always there were many light-hearted moments on court.

What happened when Serena Williams played against Stefanos Tsitsipas
And Williams has now reminisced about one such moment, having been joined by Stefanos Tsitsipas on an Instagram Live session.
The former was asked if she had ever played the latter, with Williams saying: “We used to hit! Does an exhibition count? Did I win in the exhibition?”
Shaking his head, Tsitsipas replied: “But you aced me! I will never forget that. That was the only time in my life I got aced by a WTA player, I think!”
How did Stefanos Tsitsipas do in 2024?
Tsitsipas will perhaps have mixed feelings about his roller-coaster season, with the Greek ace finishing 11th in the ATP Tour rankings.
He did manage one title at the ATP Masters 1000 Monte-Carlo, where Tsitsipas overcame Casper Ruud in straight sets.
But the 11-time tour-level champion has previously set higher standards for himself than that, having once reached number three in the world.
| 2024 | Career | |
| Rank | 11 | 3 (High) |
| Win-loss | 45-22 | 345-165 |
| Titles | 1 | 11 |
| Prize money | $3,392,603 | $32,149,165 |
A French Open quarter-final run was his best at this year’s Grand Slams, with Tsitsipas then failing to qualify for the ATP Finals.
A positive win-loss record of 45-22 was still secured, but the 26-year-old should be aiming to massively improve overall next time out.
