Daniil Medvedev’s Australian Open campaign came to an end in the fourth round after losing to Learner Tien in straight sets.
Medvedev, a three-time finalist at Melbourne Park, was beaten 6-4, 6-0, 6-3 by Tien, who advanced to a maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal.
The 20-year-old American was simply too good and will now be faced with third seed Alexander Zverev in the last eight.

Leading up to the Australian Open, Medvedev was in fine form, having won the Brisbane International to kick-start his season.
He had clinched three hard-fought victories at the first major of the year, but the former world number one simply had no answer for Tien.
