Tennis journalist James Gray has explained what Andy Murray is planning to do today. This comes after the Great Britain star picked up a pretty serious-looking injury against Tomas Machac.
It’s already been suggested by some experts how long Murray could be out for. However, nothing is official at this stage and hopefully, it will be good news.
This injury could be seriously detrimental to Murray and his career. The player has already hinted that 2024 will be his final year on the tour and he won’t want a cruel injury to rob him of a chance to bow out properly.
The man with three Grand Slam titles to his name played well at the Miami Open. Okay, he lost out in three sets to Machac but he did manage to beat Matteo Berrettini and Tomas-Martin Etcheverry.

What Andy Murray is planning on doing today
Well, this update now comes from I News’ tennis correspondent James Gray. He’s lifted the lid on the next stages for Murray and he’s outlined what the 36-year-old will be doing today.
He said on X: “Andy Murray will today see a specialist again and hold meetings to consider plans for his ankle surgery.
“Keyhole surgery is likely to be an option, but that will impact recovery times. Wimbledon is there months and a week away.”
Murray has prolonged his career in impressive fashion. He has a metal hip, a knee that isn’t quite right and ultimately he’s fighting on when a lesser character might have just called it quits.
Great Britain will have everything crossed for Andy Murray
It seemed for the world that Murray wanted to bow out at Wimbledon this year. Now, however, he might not get that opportunity and the Great British public will be rooting for him.
This injury feels complicated. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that discussions are going to take place over the next steps and it will be interesting to see what is decided.
Murray will go down as one of the best sports stars that Great Britain has ever seen when he does bring the curtain down on a glittering career that has seen him claim three major titles.
Quite simply, it would be devastating for it to all end like this. With that in mind, we’re all rooting for Murray and the hope will be that he can make a swansong appearance at Wimbledon this year.
