Viktor Troicki has named the person he wants to see join Novak Djokovic’s coaching team.
The Serbian is preparing for the 2025 season in which he looks to reassert himself as the dominant force in the game.
Novak Djokovic did not claim a Grand Slam title in what was a strange 2024 season, and he also lost the World number one ranking.
The 37-year-old is still desperate to get his hands on another Grand Slam title and it appears he wants a fresh face in his team to help him achieve that goal.
Viktor Troicki suggests who Novak Djokovic should hire as a coach
Jim Courier appeared on the Tennis Channel podcast this week and suggested Djokovic add a coach to his team to add fresh ideas ahead of a crucial season for the 24-time Grand Slam winner. This looks to be the World number six is trying to achieve.
Serbian media outlet SportKlub reported that his compatriot Victor Troicki says he heard a ‘rumour’ that Djokovic wants to add a big name to his team.
The former player suggested who he would like that player to be, and like Djokovic, he has won seven Wimbledon titles. “I heard a rumour, Novak wants a ‘big name’ as a coach,” Troicki was reported saying.
“Honestly, I’m also guessing. I have no information and no idea who it could be. He’ll be looking for a big name with whom he can share experiences.”

Novak Djokovic in no stranger to ‘big name’ tennis coaches
For the vast majority of his career, Djokovic was coached by Marián Vajda, who he achieved plenty of success with. However, if were to begin working with Pete Sampras, he will not be the first all-star coach Djokovic has been coached by.
But he also worked with some former big name tennis players, the first being six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker.
The pair worked together from 2013 to 2016 and during that time Djokovic won six Grand Slam titles, one of which was his first French Open title, and 14 Masters 1000 trophies.
More recently, Djokovic worked with 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic from 2019 to 2024 and it was another successful partnership.
Djokovic won nine majors working with the Croatian, and during that he became the male player with the most number of Grand Slam titles with 24.
