Qinwen Zheng, Donna Vekic and Iga Swiatek can all leave the Olympics happy after their medal finishes.

Swiatek clinched bronze at the Olympics, with Vekic landing silver and Zheng going all the way to win gold.

Andy Roddick defended Swiatek at the Olympics, with the Pole having come under fire for missing the opening ceremony.

She was the favourite to clinch gold this week, but Zheng broke two Olympic records in her win over Swiatek.

That victory came in the semi-finals, with the Pole then winning her bronze medal match versus Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.

Zheng meanwhile met Vekic in the final in the French capital, with the former emerging victorious 6-2, 6-3.

The trio have now been congratulated by former world number one Victoria Azarenka for their displays in Paris.

“Congratulations to Qinwen Zheng, Donna Vekic and Iga Swiatek for making history for their countries at the Olympics 2024!” Azarenka wrote on X.

Will Iga Swiatek be disappointed with Olympic bronze?

Zheng certainly did things the hard way at the Olympics, with her route to the final definitely not an easy one.

The 21-year-old had to make it past the likes of American Emma Navarro and German Angelique Kerber, before her meeting with Swiatek.

World number one Swiatek meanwhile may be disappointed with her final result, despite securing an Olympic medal.

She only just won a third consecutive French Open title at the venue, and was expected to go all the way once more on the Paris clay.

And the silver medal caps off a superb time for Vekic, who recently made it to the semi-finals of Wimbledon.
