The 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals are right around the corner, as the best young players prepare to battle it out in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Jakub Mensik and Learner Tien head to the Middle East as the pre-tournament favorites, having both won ATP titles this year.
They won’t have it easy, though, facing a strong field of up-and-comers, including Alexander Blockx, Nishesh Basavareddy, and Dino Prizmic.

Mensik and Tien will also have to contend with the new rules introduced ahead of this year’s Next Gen ATP Finals.

Every winner of the Next Gen ATP Finals
The inaugural Next Gen Finals took place in Milan eight years ago and was won by South Korea’s Hyeon Chung.
Since then, two future Grand Slam champions and a two-time major finalist have joined the winners’ circle.
| Year | Location | Champion | Career-high ranking | Best Grand Slam result |
| 2017 | Milan, Italy | Hyeon Chung | 19 | SF – 2018 Australian Open |
| 2018 | Milan, Italy | Stefanos Tsitsipas | 3 | F – 2021 French Open, 2023 Australian Open |
| 2019 | Milan, Italy | Jannik Sinner | 1 | W – 2024 Australian Open, 2024 US Open, 2025 Australian Open, 2025 Wimbledon |
| 2021 | Milan, Italy | Carlos Alcaraz | 1 | W – 2022 US Open, 2023 Wimbledon, 2024 French Open, 2024 Wimbledon, 2025 French Open, 2025 US Open |
| 2022 | Milan, Italy | Brandon Nakashima | 29 | 4R – 2022 Wimbledon, 2024 US Open |
| 2023 | Jeddah, Saudi Arabia | Hamad Medjedovic | 57 | 3R – 2025 French Open |
| 2024 | Jeddah, Saudi Arabia | Joao Fonseca | 24 | 3R – 2025 French Open, 2025 Wimbledon |
Only one former champion, Hamad Medjedovic, has so far failed to break into the world’s top 50.
The success of Stefanos Tsitsipas, Jannik Sinner, and Carlos Alcaraz far outweighs that, however, as the trio have all enjoyed lengthy stints in the top 10.

Sinner and Alcaraz have been particularly successful, winning the last eight available Grand Slam titles.
Who do you think can win a Grand Slam for the first time in 2026?
It’s impossible to predict whether the 2025 Next Gen Finals champion will follow in their footsteps, but it will certainly be worth tuning in for.
The 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, December 17.
