The 2025 WTA season saw a different winner at each Grand Slam tournament.
Madison Keys hoisted her first major title at last year’s edition of the Australian Open, where she beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
At Roland Garros, Coco Gauff clinched the second Grand Slam trophy of her career, with the American star also beating Sabalenka in the title bout.
Where will Coco Gauff be ranked at the end of the 2026 season?
Then, Iga Swiatek made history for her country by becoming the first Pole to win a singles title at Wimbledon, before Sabalenka finally added another major to her tally at the US Open.
So far in 2026, Elena Rybakina has captured the Australian Open crown, and tennis legend Tracy Austin thinks only eight others on the tour are capable of following suit.

Tracy Austin discusses Grand Slam chances of several WTA stars
Asked on Tennis Channel to make a list of every WTA star she thinks can win a major this year, Austin replied: “I have nine.
“So I had Sabalenka, Rybakina, Swiatek, Gauff, Pegula, Anisimova, Andreeva. I’m going to put in Mboko.
“I’m very impressed with her. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the next year she were to win a major.
How would you now rate Aryna Sabalenka’s chances of winning the French Open on a scale of 1-10?
“And I’m going to put in Muchova. Even though she lost today, she can get hot. We’ve seen her rise to the semifinals a couple of times.
“And then I’m going to give honourable mention to Svitolina and Vekic. They’re just outside. I just want to mention their names.”

Victoria Mboko’s results at Grand Slam tournaments so far
Victoria Mboko has already established herself as one of the best players on the planet, having risen to ninth in the world at the age of 19.
While she has managed to win a WTA 1000 title, Mboko has yet to make a deep run at a Grand Slam tournament.
The Canadian made her major debut at Roland Garros last year, where she was knocked out in the third round by Zheng Qinwen.
Mboko then suffered a second-round exit at Wimbledon 2025 and crashed out in round one at the US Open.
She achieved her best Grand Slam result at the Australian Open earlier this year by making the fourth round before falling to Sabalenka.
