Novak Djokovic will look to bounce back from his early French Open exit at this year’s Wimbledon championships.

Djokovic crashed out of Roland Garros 2026 in the third round, falling to Joao Fonseca in a thrilling five-set encounter.

The Serb suffered his worst Grand Slam result since the 2024 US Open, and his worst in Paris since 2009.

Who will retire with more Grand Slam titles – Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic?

Let us know why in the comments!

So far this year, Djokovic has featured at just four tournaments: The Australian Open, the Indian Wells Open, the Italian Open and Roland Garros.

At 39 years of age, he is continuing to limit his schedule in 2026, which Toni Nadal thinks could be his last season on tour.

Toni Nadal discusses Novak Djokovic’s potential retirement

Speaking in an interview with ESPN, Rafael Nadal’s former coach said: “I was asked before Roland Garros whether I saw Djokovic winning the tournament, and I answered no; not because I don’t consider him good enough, but because the years go by.

“Thus, when you have to play every two days and in five-set matches, recovery is no longer the same.

“Movement doesn’t happen the same way anymore; you arrive a bit late, and all of this is reflected in the game.

How would you rate Novak Djokovic’s chances of winning Wimbledon?

“He is competing in an attempt to win another Grand Slam; otherwise, what interest does it have for a player who has already won everything?

“That is why I think we are witnessing his final season,” concluded Nadal.

Novak Djokovic continues Wimbledon preparation streak

Djokovic will be appearing at Wimbledon for the 21st time in his career this year, and is a seven-time champion at the event.

Since 2019, Djokovic’s scheduling decisions around this time of year have been very consistent.

After playing Queen’s in 2018, every following season, Djokovic opted not to feature at a grass-court tune-up event between Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and it has certainly worked out for him.

This year is no different, with Djokovic going straight from Paris to London once again as he continues his search of major number 25.
