Toni Nadal has resurfaced to give his verdict on the state of tennis after the US Open.
Having watched Jannik Sinner stroll to victory over Taylor Fritz, crushing American dreams for the second time in as many days, the New York crowd were forced to congratulate their new champions.
A couple of first-time winners, he now suggests that a period of dominance could be in the offing for the world number one.
However, he did remain critical of how the American handled himself in that championship match.
Toni Nadal reviews the US Open final
Speaking to Spanish outlet El Pais, just after Toni Nadal admitted he fears for Carlos Alcaraz after the US Open final, he would turn his attention back towards praising Sinner further.
After all, the Italian was in inspired form throughout a tumultuous campaign in New York, brushing aside huge off-court unrest to claim the title.

His latest comments also concern Fritz, and how he made one crucial ‘mistake’ that quelled his chances of an upset.
Starting with Sinner, Nadal noted: ‘Today, he has become a player who is practically unstoppable for the vast majority of his opponents.
‘He is capable of delivering each of his strokes with great speed and of making very few unforced errors.
‘Overcoming him from the back of the court is almost impossible, and this is precisely, in my opinion, the mistake that Fritz made in the first two sets: making the wrong decision to play very fast rallies from the back of the court and trying to surprise him or hit a winner; but making the Italian miss was, as we could see, practically impossible.’
What are the current ATP Rankings after the US Open?
With the US Open done and dusted, and with so many shocking results both good and bad, there has naturally been a huge swing on the ATP Rankings list.
However, one man whose place has unsurprisingly not changed is the world number one, with Sinner stuck firmly at the top of the pile.
In fact, his 11,180 points are a monumental 4105 ahead of Alexander Zverev, the new world number two, up from fourth. That has seen both Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic drop a place.

Meanwhile, Fritz the finalist jumped up from 12th to 7th, knocking down Hubert Hurkacz, Casper Ruud and Grigor Dimitrov by one each, and dumping Alex de Minaur out of the top ten.
Other big movers include Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton, who went up and down by four respectively, whilst Jack Draper has broken into the top 20 for the first time in his career.
