Novak Djokovic was unable to win his 25th Grand Slam title after losing in the Australian Open final.
Djokovic beat Jannik Sinner to reach his first Grand Slam final in over a year, and first Australian Open final since 2023.
However, the final match was just one step too far for Djokovic, who was beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in four sets.
During his post-match speech, Djokovic gave a retirement hint and Tim Henman has predicted what the Serbian might do now.

Tim Henman says what he thinks Novak Djokovic will do after losing to Carlos Alcaraz
Djokovic is a 10-time Australian Open champion, and had actually never lost in the final in Melbourne before.
However, after being beaten by Alcaraz, 2-6 6-2 6-3 7-5, Djokovic is now in an unfamiliar position even in his 23-year tennis career.
Who finishes their career on more majors – Alcaraz or Djokovic?
When reflecting on the match for TNT Sports, former world number four Henman has suggested that while Djokovic will be disappointed, he will not have any regrets about how the match turned out against Alcaraz.
“I think he will tip his hat,” said Henman. “He is 38. He has so much experience in this sport. He has lost in Slam finals before.
“Yeah, he will lick his wounds. You also take into the account the conditions. When it has been this cold, it probably affects the penetration on Djokovic’s shots by 5%. When it was warmer vs Sinner he was getting that much more value and that had a part to play.
“I don’t think he can have any question marks about the outcome. He will be disappointed but in the context of what he has done this fortnight it has been unbelievable.”
What is Novak Djokovic’s next tournament after the Australian Open?
At this late stage in his tennis career, Djokovic has made it very clear that Grand Slams are his main and really only priority.
That being said, Djokovic’s next scheduled tournament is actually the Qatar Open, which is an ATP 500 level event.
Djokovic is a two-time former champion in Doha, and is set to join a stacked field for the 2026 tournament.

This includes Alcaraz and Sinner as the top seeds, with Felix Auger-Aliassime, Alexander Bublik and Daniil Medvedev also entered into the Qatar Open.
The Serbian will be hoping for a different outcome to his campaign at the Qatar Open last year, which saw Djokovic lose to Matteo Berrettini in the first round.
