Carlos Alcaraz is working hard in training to be ready for Roland Garros as he recovers from an arm injury.
The 21-year-old has suffered multiple fitness issues in a season where he is aiming to add to his Grand Slam haul and regain the World Number One ranking.
The Spaniard last played in Madrid where he suffered a shock loss to Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals, and he subsequently pulled out of the Italian Open after experiencing some pain while playing in the Spanish capital.
While some of his rivals battle for the crown in Rome, Alcaraz is back in his native Murcia training for his comeback, but there was a worrying sign.
What did Carlos Alcaraz wear during his training session?
A video was posted to social media platform X of Alcaraz on the practice court at the Real Sociedad Club de Campo Murcia.
He was filmed moving to his left and hitting a backhand down the line, before moving across to his right and hitting a down the line forehand from the opposite side of the court.
The two-time Grand Slam champion then shifted to the service line and hit a slice backhand over the net, before doing the same on the forehand from the other side of the court.
Alcaraz repeated the combination again, with each of his movements edging him closer to the net. While there appeared to be no issues with his movement, Alcaraz was still wearing the protective gear on his right arm as seen Madrid.
This indicates he is still feeling some discomfort in his arm or perhaps it was just a precaution, but Alcaraz is doing all he can to protect himself while he trains for another Roland Garros campaign.

Carlos Alcaraz’s 2024 clay court results so far
After claiming his first title of the year at the Indian Wells Masters, Alcaraz has had a frustrating season on the clay. An injury ruled him out of the Monte Carlo Masters, before reaching the quarter-finals in Madrid.
Back in February Alcaraz travelled to South America to play in the Argentina Open and reached the semi-finals, where he suffered an upset defeat to Nicolas Jarry.
Several days later he was back on court at Brazil’s Rio Open, but his campaign was short-lived. A twisted ankle caused him to withdraw from his opening match with home favourite Thiago Monteiro after just two games.
If anyone can turn their form around in the blink of an eye it is the electrifying Alcaraz, but he must overcome his latest injury if he is to have a chance of winning Roland Garros for the first time.
