Wimbledon has now been and gone, with the ATP and WTA stars now turning their attentions to the US Open.

There are, of course, many high-profile names who must first take to the clay of Roland Garros, having agreed to play at the 2024 Olympics.

But the hard courts of Flushing Meadows will welcome the biggest stars of men’s and women’s tennis shortly after.

Many now have a point to prove after their Wimbledon displays, while there are others who will be extremely proud of their efforts at SW19.

It was Carlos Alcaraz who successfully defended his men’s singles title, with Barbora Krejcikova winning the women’s event for the very first time.

The top five men’s players for winners in 2024 Grand Slams

A key statistic has now emerged following the conclusion of the latest Grand Slam in terms of the most winners in such events in 2024.

As per OptaAce, Alcaraz leads the way in men’s singles with 784 winners, followed by the 771 of Alexander Zverev.

Third place on the list is Taylor Fritz (687), followed by world number one Jannik Sinner (665) and Daniil Medvedev (643).

Which women lead the way for winners in Grand Slams in 2024?

Having reached the finals of both the French Open and Wimbledon, Jasmine Paolini is in first place with 409 winners made, as per OptaAce.

The Italian, who lost both finals, is followed by the 391 of Elena Rybakina in second, and the 342 of Marta Kostyuk in third.

Completing the top five are world number one Iga Swiatek (339) and Wimbledon champion Krejcikova (332).

The latter will now be keen to extend that tally at the US Open, with Andy Roddick predicting Krejcikova to end up in the Hall of Fame after her Wimbledon win.

The men’s champion meanwhile broke a record with his success, with Alcaraz becoming the first player to record multiple victories over players ranked in the top five on grass, clay and hard courts in successive seasons.
