Roger Federer has been spotted in Paris ahead of Roland Garros next week.
Even more intriguing, the 42-year-old has also been pictured on a tennis court, hitting with some local juniors too.
Whenever one of the GOATs takes to a court, intrigue is bound to be spiked by the masses.
However, given he has been retired for nearly two years now, questions have been asked about what has brought him back to France right before this prestigious event. Well, now we know.
Roger Federer seen in Paris ahead of Roland Garros
Just a week after he and Rafael Nadal starred for Louis Vuitton, in an interview that many clamoured to watch, it seems Federer is right back on the marketing trail.
After all, that is unfortunately all this is, spending some time in Paris to promote UNIQLO once again.
That scuppers any dreamers that might have hoped for an unlikely return to professional tennis for the 20-time Grand Slam champion, but does put him in the perfect location to watch the upcoming Grand Slam.
It is no coincidence that he will likely therefore be present for Nadal’s last-ever Roland Garros match…
Roger Federer could also be there to support Rafael Nadal
Just as Nadal was there to hold Federer’s hand through an emotional farewell from tennis at the 2022 Laver Cup, perhaps the Swiss maestro could in turn be set to watch Roland Garros and await the Spaniard’s similar tearful exit from the place he has loved so much over the years.
Across all tournaments in every sport, not just tennis, we are unlikely to ever see dominance like what the 37-year-old has enjoyed at the French Open.
With 14 titles, a record never to be broken, they unsurprisingly make up the bulk of his 22 Grand Slam titles.

And whilst people are under no illusions about his slim chances of winning another, what a story it would be.
For Federer to be sat in the stands, fresh from his marketing campaign, to watch his long-term rival and great friend further make history against all the odds. It would be one of the great moments for tennis fans, who have overseen these two battle for decades and develop one of the fiercest sporting battles into the strongest of relationships.
