Medvedev ended Carlos Alcaraz’s winning streak to book his place in the championship match, beating the Spaniard for the first time since the 2023 US Open.

Sinner, on the other hand, overcame Alexander Zverev in the final four fairly comfortably, beating the German in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
With their runs in ‘Tennis Paradise’ so far, the two finalists have achieved a feat not managed on the tour since 2015.

The 2026 Indian Wells Open title bout will mark the first time the two finalists have failed to drop a set throughout the tournament since 2015.
Neither Sinner nor Medvedev has conceded a set so far, with both players in immaculate form.
According to Opta Ace, the last time this happened was in 2015, when Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic advanced to the final after recording flawless campaigns.

Sinner has earned straight-set victories over the likes of Joao Fonseca, Learner Tien and Zverev en route to the final.

Sinner has enjoyed a winning record against Medvedev over the years, and he has won seven of their last eight clashes.
Medvedev emerged triumphant in their first four bouts on the ATP Tour, but since opening his account in the rivalry in the 2023 Beijing final, Sinner has fallen to the Russian just once.
The two have not played each other since the 2024 season, which is also the year they last went toe-to-toe in a final.
The 2024 Australian Open final was the last championship match between them, where Sinner came out on top.
